SEVENDUST Upcoming Two-DVD Set To Include 'Heavy' Show Filmed At NYC's Hammerstein Ballroom

May 7, 2014

SEVENDUST is currently on the road promoting the band's new acoustic album, "Time Travelers & Bonfires". The shows are very unique and drummer Morgan Rose told VH1 Radio Network's Dave Basner they'll be filming an upcoming one for a DVD, but that's not all that will be included with that package when they release it.

"Nobody knows this but I'm going to start telling everybody now, but we're going to do a two-DVD set with an acoustic show and a heavy show and we're bringing out massive production for the heavy show and we're going to do it in New York and we're going to do it at Hammerstein [Ballroom] and it's going to be free and we're going to destroy that place," Rose said.

Morgan went on to describe what fans can expect from that "heavy" show.

"We're going to bring out so much production, it might be the only time you ever see us like that," he said. "I mean, we're blowing shit up. We're going to blow stuff up, we're going to have fire, we're going to have dragons. We're going all the way. And I'm not kidding. I talked to the people last night and they're, like, 'Listen, you have to have fire.' They're, like, 'I love your band, your band is underrated, you've never been able to play with fire and bombs, we're playing with fire and bombs. We're going to let people see what SEVENDUST would look like if they had everybody else's money.' So I was, like, 'Yeah, I like that.'"

Morgan said to expect the heavy show to happen before the end of August, while SEVENDUST's June 8 acoustic gig in Sayreville, New Jersey will be the one they film for the DVD. The package will be out in time for the holidays.

"Time Travelers & Bonfires" sold around 15,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 19 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD was made available on April 15 via 7Bros. Records, in conjunction with ADA Label Services.

The Atlanta band — Lajon Witherspoon (vocals),Morgan Rose (drums/vocals),Clint Lowery (guitar/vocals),John Connolly (guitar/vocals) and Vince Hornsby (bass/vocals) — recorded "Time Travelers & Bonfires" at Architekt Studios in Butler, New Jersey (where they recorded their previous "Black Out The Sun" album). It is a collection of brand new songs, along with re-recorded SEVENDUST classics. Newly re-recorded songs include "Black", "Gone", "Denial", "Karma", "Trust" and "Crucified". Six brand new songs have also been written and recorded for the acoustic album. It's not the first time SEVENDUST has explored their acoustic side. Their critically acclaimed "Southside Double-Wide" live acoustic album was released in 2004.
